Project Value

£2,200,000

Three phases of internal lecture theatre refurbishments located within the Grade II listed Central Lecture Theatre Building, known for its distinctive Brutalist architecture.

Originally won through competitive tender, the first phase of refurbishments took place on the ground floor. This was followed by negotiated appointments for phase two on the second floor and phase three on the third floor.

All phases followed a similar scope of works and were carried out within a live, fully occupied university campus. The refurbishment works included the removal of existing seating, concrete ceiling repairs, and the installation of new ceilings. The theatres were fully redecorated, with new flooring laid throughout. Existing seating was reupholstered, complemented by the installation of new sections where required.

Additional works involved plaster repairs, new acoustic wall panelling, and a comprehensive upgrade of mechanical and electrical services. Finally, all seating and desks were reinstalled to complete the refurbishment.
