Project Value

£1,650,000

The design and refurbishment of outdated changing facilities set across two floors; completed for a prestigious independent school.

The refurbishment project delivered a high-spec first-floor changing facility and gymnasium tailored to a school’s needs. The changing rooms feature integrated benching, pocket doors, and a bespoke seamless locker system, offering both functionality and style. Radiant panel heating and MVHR units enhance comfort and air quality, while new showers and WCs include designated official changing areas and modern cubicle systems. Durable, easy-to-maintain flooring was installed throughout.

The gym was designed to support diverse activities, including specialist high-impact flooring, a climbing wall, fixed gym equipment, a free weights area, and bespoke branding. MVHR and air conditioning systems maintain a comfortable environment.

Comprehensive M&E works included full electrical installation, track lighting, CCTV, access control, and a modern fire alarm system. Mechanical upgrades featured new water systems and extract ventilation for wet areas. MVHR units with fan coil integration eliminated the need for roof access.

Structural works included re-roofing, new rooflights, and staircase removal to maximise space, with exposed services enhancing the industrial aesthetic.

Following previous successful projects it was great to work with Borras once again. They understood our requirements and worked hard to minimise the impact on the School’s operations during term time. The Site Manager, Adam White, was highly competent and experienced and worked closely with our Buildings Team to manage deliveries and Sub-contractors.
