Project Value

£1,600,000

The construction of three new residential flats as an infill development, carefully integrated above an existing UKPN substation and situated within the curtilage of an established social housing complex.

Our works included the demolition of existing structures and the installation of prefabricated brick-slip faced façade panels to create recessed areas between windows. Bespoke lintels were designed and installed to form arched and curved external brickwork openings, contributing to the architectural detailing of the development.

A cantilevered balcony with glass balustrading was added to enhance outdoor space for residents. The project required complex temporary works design and careful construction sequencing, including façade retention, protection of existing services, and coordination of structural steel connections.

Water treatment systems were installed alongside a range of modern building technologies, including telecommunications, TV systems, CCTV, and access control/intercom systems, with intercom units fitted within each flat.

Fire detection and alarm systems were implemented throughout to ensure safety compliance, and a lightning protection system was also installed to meet building regulations and provide long-term safety and resilience for the new development.
