The scheme began with the expansion of the existing centre and the construction and fit-out of a new three-storey office building at the front of the site. The project also included the refurbishment of the existing facility, reconfiguration of car parking with additional spaces, and revised HGV access routes to improve overall site functionality.
The single-storey steel-framed extension, externally clad and built on concrete foundations, added 2,445sqm of distribution space. This included thirteen bespoke dock loaders to enhance logistics capacity. The new office and ancillary areas total 1,079sqm over three storeys. A key feature was a 20-metre-long steel link bridge installed at a height of 8 metres, connecting the new offices to the existing building across the access road.
To maintain operations throughout construction, a temporary wall with a bespoke tarpaulin divide was erected after early removal of the internal wall, allowing safe and uninterrupted use of the existing facility.
