North London SEND school refurbishments complete
Congratulations to our General Contracts who have recently completed a much needed new SEND school in North London.
The project has revitalized a building which had lain empty for several years and which, following an extensive programme of internal and external repairs, refurbishment and alteration, now provides the local community with outstanding education and opportunities for students aged 16 – 25 years old with special educational needs.
The multi faceted programme included;
- Demolition and internal alterations creating new modern classrooms and offices
- Refurbishment of the heritage front entrance façade
- Refurbishment of existing basement plant room
- External masonry repairs maintaining the heritage image
- Replacement of circa 95 windows
- Installation of Breathing Buildings controlled hybrid ventilation system
- Installation of a new car park and landscaped area
- New Bauder roofing system
- Installation of an external metal staircase.
As you can see from the photographs the final product looks fantastic and will provide invaluable places for the local community… congratulations to our General Contracts team and our thanks to all those involved.
The Considerate Constructors inspectors visited twice during the programme, scoring the project an excellent 41 and 44 out of 45.
