Borras people like to organise and get involved in fundraising and wellbeing events. We volunteer with local charities and food banks and deliver talks and activities at local schools.
Our charitable donations and involvement in community events allow us to connect with local people in positive and enjoyable ways. We take pleasure in giving back to our community.
We value and select our suppliers based on their dedication to fair employment practices, safe working conditions, and environmental responsibility.
We adhere to the Fair Payment Code, paying fairly and quickly, knowing that it’s an important way in which we can support survival and growth at all levels of our industry.
We are also committed to local investments where possible, spending with local suppliers, employing locally and promoting local businesses.
We are proud members of the Considerate Contractors monitoring scheme. Our sites are independently assessed based on the Code of Considerate Practice. In 2024, Borras Construction achieved an outstanding average score of 41 out of 45 in all inspections conducted.
Our teams ensure that residents and businesses local to our projects are kept informed and respected throughout our projects with newsletters, community noticeboards, and targeted efforts to minimise disruption.
With mental health first aiders on site, regular safety audits, and flexible working policies, we’re fostering a positive, supportive environment for everyone involved in our projects.
Students are welcomed at Borras for a wide variety of work experience placements, including T Level industry placements for young people who have chosen a career in construction.
Our teams deliver careers presentations, STEM activities and employability workshops. Engaging and educational site tours and safety talks are enjoyed by all ages.
Every project is evaluated for its impact on the local environment. We make donations to biodiversity projects, carry out tree planting and supply wildflower seeds for landscaping.
Any reusable materials are donated to local non-profit organisations. Our teams enjoy delivering presentations and workshops about the environmental aspects of construction projects to schools.
At Borras Construction, we use Thrive to measure our success in building social value. We are committed to undertaking, tracking and measuring social value for communities at every project stage, whether it be opportunities for team volunteering, donations, or contributions to local environment and education projects.
